2 killed at a Dallas-area fast food restaurant in shooting police say was targeted

IRVING, Texas — Two people were killed in what police say was a targeted shooting Wednesday afternoon at a fast-food restaurant in suburban Dallas.

Irving police said they identified a suspect, who has not yet been arrested. Police said there was no threat to the public.

Television footage showed screens placed in some windows of a Chick-fil-A restaurant and several police cars in the closed parking lot. Police would not confirm that the shooting took place at the Chick-fil-A.

Police say they are still trying to determine the exact reason for the shooting. Police said they were interviewing people who saw or heard what happened.

Police have not released any details about the victims.

A phone and email message to Chick-fil-A’s corporate office was not immediately returned Wednesday.
