2 dead, 7 injured after shooting at a bar in suburban Pittsburgh

PENN HILLS, PA β€” Two people were killed and seven others were injured in a shooting at a bar in a Pittsburgh suburb, police said Sunday.

The Allegheny County Homicide Unit said it responded to a request for assistance from Penn Hills police following the early morning shooting at Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills.

First responders discovered the bodies of an adult man and an adult woman in the bar around 3 a.m. Sunday. Seven more victims were found. Some were transported from the scene and more victims walked to area hospitals, Allegheny County police said in a statement on social media.

One of the victims is in critical condition. The remaining victims all had injuries that were not life-threatening, the statement said.

Preliminary information indicates that β€œan altercation occurred in the bar and several individuals opened fire,” provincial police said.

The statement does not state whether any suspects have been arrested.
