1Password introduces recovery codes and logging in with QR codes

1Password has launched two new features to make using one of the best password managers even easier.

First, recovery codes will help 1Password users recover their accounts safely even without their account password or secret key.

The second feature allows users to quickly and securely add their 1Password account to a new device by scanning a QR code with their mobile device, which acts as a multi-factor authenticator.

1Password has been working hard to improve security and user experience in recent months, launching its Secure Login solution for any device in May 2024, giving businesses the tools to manage logins on any device registered with the organization. .

The recovery codes must be set while you are accessing your account, otherwise you may have trouble logging in if you forget your password or secret key. The unique code should be kept in a safe place until you need it.

The QR code scanner provides a secure channel between your mobile device and the device you log in to. As an added bonus, 1Password has also made manual login easier and more intuitive. This feature is currently in beta and is expected to be fully functional by the end of summer 2024.
