It’s Rick Moranis!

The reclusive actor was seen dressed perfectly for a chilly day in the Big Apple, wearing an insulated jade green jacket over olive green trousers and black boots.

He kept warm in a multi-colored patterned knitted hat and black gloves, while making sure to wear sun protection in the form of sunglasses.

The rare outing comes as his return to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids franchise was delayed for several years after he took an acting break in 1997.

The actor made the decision to focus on being a single father after losing his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky, to breast cancer in February 1991. The couple had two children together: Rachel and Mitchell.

News of his return to Hollywood by starring in the reboot of his highly popular film franchise was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter in February 2020.

He originally starred as protagonist Wayne Szalinski in 1989’s Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.

Original director Joe Johnston will return to direct the new project, while Frozen’s Josh Gad will star as Moranis’ son Nick.

In the first film, his science character’s children stumble upon one of his experiments in the family home and end up shrinking themselves to the size of insects.

The original film was so successful that Rick returned in 1992 for the sequel Honey, I Blew Up The Kid.

He completed the trilogy with the straight-to-video sequel Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves in 1997, which was his last role in front of the camera before his hiatus.

Despite taking a step back from the spotlight, he never retreated from the industry, as he said The Hollywood Reporter in 2015: ‘I took a break, which turned into a longer break.

‘But I’m interested in anything that I might find interesting. I still occasionally get asked about a film or television role and as soon as it comes along, my interest is piqued.’

The native of Toronto, Canada is a comedy film legend, as he also starred in classics Ghostbusters and Spaceballs.

He was offered a cameo in the 2016 female-driven Ghostbusters reboot, alongside co-stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver, but turned it down.
