A 19-year-old Arkansas teen tracks down his grandmother, 61, after he finds her missing wallet while shopping at Walmart, and the pair become unlikely friends.

An Arkansas teen tracked down and befriended a grandmother after finding her missing wallet in a Walmart shopping cart.

Delivontae Johnson, 19, was having her tire repaired at a local shop when she came across a black wallet left in a cart belonging to 61-year-old Dee Harkrider.

Johnson decided to personally return the wallet to Harkrider, a grandmother of seven, rather than to the employees, a hunt that led him to find an unexpected friend.

“When I found a name, I looked it up on Facebook so I could get in touch with the owner,” Johnson said. Fox News.

Harkrider did not immediately respond to Johnson because Facebook does not always alert users to messages from people who are not friends.

Johnson then decided to ask someone on Harkrider’s friend list for help and eventually found himself at the 61-year-old’s home. Within the hour, Johnson was on his way to meet Harkrider in a parking lot in Palestine.

“When I got there, he was shocked that I was a teenager,” Johnson said. “She thanked me and gave me a hug and we both took a picture together.”

Harkrider said NTD news he left his wallet in the cart after wandering around the store for a few items.

“Everything he had was in that wallet,” Harkrider said. ‘And someone took the time to get it and bring it to me.’

Meanwhile, Johnson shared that he was taken to Walmart after hitting a pothole in Memphis, Tennessee and was driving with a spare for about five days.

“My mom always told me that if you do good things, good things will always come to you,” Johnson told the outlet.

The two became fast friends, and Harkrider has since met Johnson’s family and attended their family parties.

Last weekend, Harkrider shared a series of photos from the Johnson family’s baby shower.

“Went to a baby shower this weekend and met some of Delivontae Johnson’s family,” Harkrider wrote on Facebook. ‘They made us feel so welcome!’
