Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Saturday transferred another Rs 250 crore for the Rakhi festival along with monthly assistance of Rs 1,250 crore into the bank accounts of 1.29 crore women beneficiaries of Ladli Behna Yojana, bringing the total amount to Rs 1,897 crore.

Addressing a rally in Vijaypur in Sheopur district, Yadav said women deserve respect and termed Rakshabandan (celebrated on August 19) a holy festival.

The previous MP government led by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, now the Agriculture Minister, had launched the Ladli Behna scheme months before the 2023 elections.

Speaking in Tikamgarh district, Yadav said Madhya Pradesh will leave Punjab and Haryana behind in terms of development, especially in agriculture. He appealed to farmers not to sell their land in distress as their future looks bright.
