A 114-year-old woman has revealed her simple tips for living a long and happy life – including never drinking alcohol, working and always cooking at home.
More than a decade after celebrating her milestone birthday, Elizabeth Francis is still happier than ever, and she attributes it to her faith, homemade meals, and long-lasting friendships.
The Houston, Texas woman has now shared the keys to staying young and healthy no matter how old you are.
The supercentenarian has “never had cancer or heart disease” and continues to live her life to the fullest by doing these four things.

Elizabeth currently lives with her 94-year-old daughter, Dorothy Williams, in a private home where caretakers come home every day to visit both women.
And after 114 years, Elizabeth still loves being around people and credits it as one of the things that helped her live so long.
Ethel Harrison, 68, the granddaughter of Francis, said Elizabeth has always relied on her family to keep her youthful.

“(It’s) interacting and just having love for each other and just being present.
‘Try to do the best for everyone. Love everyone,’ Elizabeth said.
Ethel added, “It’s just amazing. We are so thankful that she is still here, and my mother, who is her daughter – she only had one child – is also alive.”

The 114-year-old always took care of her garden in her backyard.
She grew her own vegetables, including kale, mustard greens, carrots, and okra.
And after grabbing the vegetables just outside her house, she brought them in and used them for cooking.
She always had homemade, hot meals ready for her family.
Ethel said it was because she “liked cooking,” adding that she doesn’t recall Elizabeth ever going to a fast food restaurant.
She often made chicken and okra with rice.
Elizabeth told the outlet: “I cooked everything. If they eat it, I’ll cook it.’
