1,000-Lb. Sisters star Tammy Slaton picked up Amy’s children ‘after cops found mushrooms and marijuana in her car’ amid camel bite at zoo

Tammy Slaton allegedly picked up her sister Amy Slaton’s children after her brother was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and child abuse at the Tennessee Safari Park zoo.

People reported that Tammy, 38, picked up her two nephews, Gage Deon, four, and Glenn Allen, two, after their mother was taken into custody on Labor Day, a law enforcement source told the publication.

Amy was arrested at the zoo, but the source could not confirm whether the children were picked up later that day by their aunt at the zoo or by the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office.

Amy’s boyfriend Brian Scott Lovvorn was with her at the park and was also arrested. He faces the same charges as her and they were both released from police custody on Tuesday.

The two held hands as they left custody and were also picked up by Amy’s brother Chris, the source told People.

People previously reported that the two children were placed in the care of a relative after the arrest. It is not yet known whether Tammy is related.

According to People, the parenting situation will be investigated by the Tennessee Department of Child Services.

Amy was reportedly bitten by a camel before her arrest. She received medical treatment at the zoo and was wheeled out of a safari park in Tennessee on a stretcher.

The TV personality looked pained as she lay on a stretcher with her right forearm wrapped in a shirt. The nature of the injury is currently unknown.

Police were called to the park about the camel bite, but upon arrival they smelled “suspicious odors” coming from their vehicle, officers said.

A spokesperson for the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department said People Responding officers discovered “what they thought were mushrooms” and “what they thought was marijuana” in Slaton’s vehicle after smelling the odor of marijuana in the car and seeing the drugs “in plain view.”

Slaton and friend Lovvorn were arrested and charged with illegal possession of Schedule I items, illegal possession of Schedule VI items, and two counts of child abuse.

Tammy’s two children were in the car when their mother was arrested but were not injured, the Crockett County sheriff’s office said. We do it weekly.

Co-owner of Tennessee Safari Park Claude Conley, 44, denied that Slaton was bitten by a camel, saying The American Sun “There is no bruise. She cut her arm on something, it is not consistent with an animal bite.”

They will be brought before the court on Thursday, September 5, on the charges.

Slaton finalized her divorce from ex-husband Michael Halterman last year.

The couple have two children and are said to have had a falling out over their appearance on the TLC reality show.

The couple welcomed their first child, Gage Deon, in November 2020 and their second son, Glenn Allen, in July 2022.
