The 100-year-old does not let her age hold her back and is committed to making a name for herself by working six days a week in her family’s furniture store, a total of 50 hours a week.
And while she works in the store, which her parents founded in 1929, Mariam keeps a smile on her face and treats everyone like family.
The centenarian credits her daily habits for her long and happy life, including avoiding fast food and munching on six core meals.

While I was talking to TodayMariam explained why she has stuck to her daily routine all these years.
The great-grandmother explained, “I can’t say I work if I enjoy what I do, so I feel guilty when I say I work.
‘It’s not for everyone, but it works well for me. My mother was the same. In fact, she died right here in the office while working here. She was over 80 and she died sitting at her desk. So I said, if that’s God’s will for my life, then so be it.’
She added that while she understands why people want to retire at 60, she can’t imagine being “happy” while “staying at home.”
Even at her age, Mariam still drives, shops and cooks while living with her son.
And she attributes it to her daily habits, like the food she eats.
The centenarian, who has not been to the doctor in three years, has been lucky to be healthy all her life thanks to her nutritious diet.
Mariam avoids fast food and fried foods and hardly drinks alcohol.
