The Commerce Department has reaffirmed its plans to launch the ‘Trade Connect’ e-platform to help exporters connect with international trade stakeholders, as part of the new government’s 100-day action plan, a senior government official said.
The online platform is being planned at a time when, on the one hand, export growth is tepid, while on the other hand the government is gearing up to achieve its target of $2 trillion in exports by 2030.
Since India is a signatory to a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), the platform will provide easy access to the benefits from these agreements.
