The series has seen Alfie try a variety of foods and have breakthroughs with things like pesto pasta and halloumi.

But not everything has gone so smoothly, as I was not a fan of a McDonalds burger or Dairylea cheese triangles.

In her most recent video, Maisi bought her boyfriend a single McDonalds cheeseburger, removing all ingredients except the meat, cheese, and ketchup.

I’m so nervous, when we started making these videos, I always said the biggest one would be a burger. I’ve always wanted to eat a burger, it seems cathartic, there’s a certain romance in eating a burger that I’ve never experienced,” Alfie explained.

Maisi watched nervously as he took a bite and had some hope when he said, “You’re chewing, chewing is good,” but quickly changed her tune as he turned away from the camera to spit out the burger.

“Okay guys, I think you’ve seen it, it’s probably a no,” he told viewers.

But all was not lost, as Aflie then took another bite with more ketchup and managed to swallow it this time, with the pair making progress.

Speaking about her struggles, Maisi has previously explained: ‘It’s something she’s struggled with all her life and it’s been really difficult. I think demanding would be to put it lightly.

Jo married 57-year-old psychiatric nurse Bernie Bourke in 1997 and they share two children, but he prefers to stay out of the limelight.

“I make jokes about my husband and people say, ‘Oh, why don’t you just divorce him then?'” Jo mused. ‘It was a joke. You know, I don’t know.

“I think someday I’ll have to put a picture of myself on Instagram trying to kill him.” So yes. To satisfy all those people who want me to do it.’

In 2021, she opened up about her own body image, admitting that she doesn’t think she’s pretty.

Appearing as the first guest on Angela Scanlon’s new series of the podcast Thanks A Million, she said she’s not ‘what men are looking for’ as she’s ‘not skinny’ with ‘flying locks’.

Despite her comments, however, Jo insisted that she “doesn’t dislike” her appearance.

She explained: “I think the thing is, it’s very strange that if you’re absolutely gorgeous then you really have no idea what it feels like to be desperate.”

“Obviously, I’m not saying that happens all the time, but I also think that if you’re like me, I don’t dislike the way I look.” But I know I’m not pretty.

“I know I’m not what men are looking for because I’m not skinny and I don’t have, like, long locks and beautiful eyelashes and all those butt cheeks.”

She continued: ‘And so, you know, it’s really hard for really attractive women to understand the mental state of not-so-attractive women and vice versa.

“So, I would say that as a teenager, I took a lot of punches, but also some horrible ones, not that they really meant to be horrible, but they were just so derogatory.

“And when you’re really interested in someone getting fired as a teenager, that’s pretty tough work, emotionally.”

The Clapham-born actress also spoke about her dry jokes, saying that many performers become exaggerated parts of themselves when on stage.

She has been known to make joking comments like, ‘I hate men’ or ‘Let’s kill them all’, to provoke a reaction from the crowd.

However, her stage persona becomes a problem when the audience begins to think that she is really like that.
